Another away fixture and another very good performance from everyone in what was very challenging conditions - freezing cold and strong wind. The Cubs started well and created a number of chances before opening the scoring in the first period. A second goal followed soon after. The second period was much the same with Peebles creating several chances with another two goals scored. The final period was much closer and it was not until the final seconds of the game that Peebles managed to score with a piledriver of a left foot.

Peebles started very brightly and created a number of good chances after some excellent passing movements, but the Melrose keeper was in great form keeping the Cubs at bay. However, the Cubs managed to sneak a goal half way through the first session, Hayes being the scorer. Unfortunately they could not hold onto the lead and Melrose equalised just before the end of the first period. Peebles came out strongly in the second period and scored five goals without reply in what was an outstanding period of play.
